Wow! I felt inside somewhere, after able to convert my imagination into drawing. But I didn't know this was not a relief and its other way around. The real struggle starts here.
Early in the morning I was too excited to imagine, that how beautiful the actual jewellery will look. Around 11 am, I started from home with my first stone and pearls in my bag and day dreaming in my heart. Trust me, the journey was not so easy. Since I had to sneak-peek into narrow roads, left the car at home and decided to use public transport. Now my search started to find the kaarigar, who can convert my dream into reality, but this was onerous. Soon realized that every sunaar is specialized in their work and to my surprise the workmanship I was looking for, is not that any random sunaar will be able to do.
In my search schedule I reached every possible place within the area from Masjid Mor to some third floor of random dark house , wherever the learned people guided me to accomplish my task. Trust me I was little afraid to walk-in anywhere. Thanks to technology, that I shared live location at home to console my heart.
Finally I reached my destination with high hope after trying out 17 locations, and showed him my imagination on paper. To my surprise, he immediately agreed to create it with half attention and continued his work. How relieved I was, at that point of time. Happily I started to take out the stone and weigh scale to give him supply. All of a sudden he asked me, yeah gulabi nageena kiske liye hai (Pink stone is for which purpose)?
I looked at him with confusion and showed my design again, and started explaining. He expressed his inability to attach ruby on the green agate. The day was already about to end, I was tired enough to be on foot almost a day long in between the narrow roads without food.
This was my day of struggle, trouble and first failure.
The day was definitely too long, but at the same time I learnt many lessons and new directions to work. I decided to be more focused and dedicated towards it. Let me get a new story of Oriki soon.... How finally, I decided to alter my designs? How I was able to get my first few creations into reality? Stay tuned.............
Keep it up
Thank you so much for you kind words. Regards.
